A BIG FAT GREEK TRIP – Why travel to Greece?

What comes to your mind when you hear the word Greece? Let me guess…
White and blue tiny little streets, beautiful sunsets, good nightlife, ancient history, mythology, the Greek gods, a greek salad, greek coffee, perhaps all the most beautiful islands with crystal clear water and all of them with good vibes. If that’s what you think, you are absolutely right. However, Greece is also so much more, so I will guide you through the heady mix of history and excitement that is this beautiful country. Here are our reasons why you should travel to Greece.

Athens has an equal measure of hipness and elegance. Imagine walking down the main streets full of vendors, stores, bars, restaurants and all of sudden you are in front of a statue of Aphrodite or Zeus. High chance this can happen to you because the city is not only the capital of Greece but it is also one of the oldest cities in the world. There is so much history hidden in those walls around the Parthenon. If I could recommend one place, that would be it, visit the Parthenon. Pro tip: you definitely should visit during the day, but also be sure to appreciate the view from the outside looking in at night as the lights go on and the entire surroundings of this magical temple can be seen from pretty much anywhere in the city.  We recommend a rooftop bar or restaurant, reservations required most places.

Have you ever heard of Naxos? I hope not, because it is still a secret gem and I will share this only with you, but please keep it to yourself until you go and see it with your own eyes. Naxos is a lesser known island compared to Santorini or Mykonos, however, it offers absolutely everything you would expect as a definition of paradise. Disclaimer time: the untouched sceneries of Naxos will blow your mind. Be ready to find secluded beaches, outlying ruins, mountains overlooking the Aegean Sea and a special easy feeling of peace watered by wine. Ok, can this get any better?

Santorini, though more popular and therefore crowded, is an island well known as the best spot to see the sunset across the entire country, as well as the whitewashed houses under their rounded blue roofs. This is the place where photos need no filter. If this is not enough to convince you to visit this magical island, consider all the cliffs above the underwater crater that turned normal beaches into a sanctuary of black, red and white pebbles with some crystals in between. That’s right, this place exists and it is waiting to be discovered by you. I can’t recommend Greece enough, and I believe everyone should treat themselves with a trip to Greece at least once in their lives.
