Albania is the corner of the Mediterranean that most travelers still skip, and that is exactly why you want to go now. In eight days you’ll move from the jagged peaks of the Albanian Alps to a free-flowing river you can raft, from Ottoman bazaars to UNESCO cities, with hot springs, waterfalls, and a wine tasting along the way.
You start in the north in Shkoder, gateway to Theth National Park, where you’ll hike to the Blue Eye Lagoon and walk the valley to its waterfalls. From there the route winds south through Kruja’s hilltop castle and Korce’s museum streets, into Permet for hot springs and a run down the Vjosa River, one of the last wild rivers in Europe. The final stretch brings wine country, Berat’s stacked windows climbing the hillside, the longest zipline in the Balkans, and a farewell dinner in Tirana.
It’s the kind of trip that surprises everyone you tell about it afterward, and the kind of place your camera roll hasn’t seen a hundred times already.
Your package includes 7 nights of hand-picked hotels, all in-country ground transportation, a local English-speaking guide with the group from Day 1 through Day 7, daily breakfast, and every activity and entrance fee in the itinerary. Fly in and out of Tirana International Airport (TIA). On arrival, your guide meets you and transfers you to Shkoder, about a 2-hour drive north. There are 2 scheduled arrival transfers and 2 scheduled departure transfers, so confirm your flight times with Legit Trips before booking.

The $500 deposit is due at booking to reserve your spot. Final balance is due 120 days before departure (by May 18, 2027).
All trips are priced as double occupancy. When available, a solo supplement may be offered if you’d prefer your own room. Traveling solo doesn’t mean you have to pay the supplement, we’re happy to pair you with a roommate whenever possible.

This trip runs once we reach the minimum group size, so please hold off on booking flights until we confirm it. We’ll email everyone the moment it’s a go, and if we don’t reach the minimum and cancel the trip, your deposit is refunded in full.
Deposits are otherwise non-refundable (but are transferable to another person or Legit Trip). Any additional payments can be refunded if canceled more than 120 days prior to the trip start date. Deposits may only be transferred one time and incur a $100 rebooking fee.

As someone who has built a life around getting outside and inspiring others to do the same, I cannot wait to bring a group to Albania. It is one of the most underrated corners of Europe, and we are going to see the best of it together, from the peaks of the Albanian Alps in Theth to the wild, free-flowing Vjosa, with Ottoman bazaars, UNESCO cities, and wine country in between.
We will hike to the Blue Eye Lagoon, raft the Vjosa, soak in the hot springs at Benje, cook a meal alongside locals in Shkoder, and toast the afternoon at a Berat winery. We will wander Kruja’s castle bazaar, fly the longest zipline in the Balkans, and end every evening somewhere worth slowing down for. This trip is built for connection, with the landscape, with the culture, and with the people you travel alongside.

Day 1
ARRIVAL IN SHKODER
Your guide meets you at the airport and drives you north to Shkoder, about 2 hours from Tirana.
Welcome dinner at Arti i Zanave, a restaurant owned and run by women that supports survivors of abuse.

Day 2
THETH NATIONAL PARK
Explore Theth National Park with peaks rising to 1,700 meters and landscapes of glacial valleys, rivers, waterfalls, and dense forest.
Stop at the Tower of Reconciliation then hike to the Blue Eye Lagoon followed by the trail along the river to Grunas and Thethi waterfalls.

Day 3
COOKING CLASS AND KRUJA
Walking tour of Shkoder in the morning followed by a hands-on Albanian cooking class at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit Kruja, one of the most important cities in Albanian history. Explore the Ottoman-style bazaar, the ethnographic museum, and the castle of Scanderbeg.

Day 4
LAKES AND WATERFALLS
A scenic drive south past Gramsh, with stops at Banja Lake and Bardhes Waterfall along the panoramic Moglice road.
You finish in Korce, southeastern Albania’s largest city, set 800 meters up at the foot of Mount Moravia.

Day 5
HOT SPRINGS AND RAFTING
On the way to Permet, stop at the village of Benje to see its 18th-century bridge and soak in the natural hot springs. In the afternoon you reach Permet, a town known for its food, its gliko sweets, its wine and raki. Grab lunch at Restaurant Familjari, then enjoy rafting the Vjosa River. Bring your own water shoes.

Day 6
WINE TASTING AND UNESCO BERAT
Drive to Berat, the city of a thousand windows and a UNESCO World Heritage Site and stop for a wine tasting at Cobo Winery.
In Berat, you’ll climb to Castle Hill and visit the Museum of Onufri Icons. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace; the hotel sits right off the main boulevard.

Day 7
ZIPLINE AND TIRANA
On the way to Tirana stop at the Dumrea Karst Lakes, a cluster of glacial lakes where you’ll fly the longest zipline in the Balkans!
Explore Bunkart 1, a vast Cold War bunker of more than 100 rooms. Then a walking tour of the city, New Bazaar, and more! Farewell dinner at Oda for authentic Albanian cooking.

DEPARTURE DAY
