Delta Dreams, Chobe Giants & Victoria Falls

April 30- May 8, 2028
Total Price: $8650 p/p

From the secret, winding waterways of the Okavango Delta to the massive elephant herds of Chobe, this 9-day journey is the ultimate Southern Africa immersion. We aren’t just taking you on a safari; we’re taking you deep into the heart of the wilderness—through private conservancies, across legendary rivers, and straight to the edge of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. You’ll stand in awe of the “Smoke that Thunders” in Victoria Falls, navigate the Delta in a traditional mokoro, and get lost (in the best way) in the magic of the African bush.

In the Khwai Community Area, your days start with the sounds of the wild and end with sundowners overlooking the lagoon. You’ll trade the land for the water in Chobe, where a private boat cruise brings you eye-to-eye with hippos and elephants at golden hour. Then, we head to Zimbabwe for the grand finale: a guided trek through the rainforests of Victoria Falls and a night of rhythm and fire at a traditional Boma drum show.

This trip is for you if you:

  • Want an authentic, deep-nature experience without sacrificing a plush bed and a cold drink.
  • Love wildlife, photography, sunset boat rides, and human stories.
  • Prefer intimate, tented camps over massive, crowded tourist hotels.
  • Want the tricky logistics (like light aircraft bush flights!) handled so you can just be present.
  • Are excited by places that feel vast, untouched, and completely alive.

If the wild heart of Africa has been calling your name—but you’ve been waiting for a curated, seamless way to experience it—this is it. We’d love to have you travel with us.

Your package includes 9 days and 8 nights in Botswana and Zimbabwe with a Legit Trips host and professional local safari guides throughout. For complete inclusions, see “What’s included” below.

You’ll fly into Maun, Botswana (MUB) and out of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (VFA). (This trip includes light aircraft “bush flights” between camps to save on massive drive times and give you incredible aerial views of the Delta!)

Day 1

ARRIVAL IN MAUN

Your journey begins at Maun Airport, where you’ll skip the long dusty roads and hop on a scenic light aircraft flight over the delta. Land at the Khwai airstrip and head straight to Saguni Safari Lodge, nestled on the edge of the Mbudi Lagoon. After a quick freshen up and a welcome drink, we’re out on our first afternoon safari activity to meet the neighbors.

Day 2

OKAVANGO DELTA

Today is all about the “abundance of game” that Khwai is famous for. We’ll head out in open 4×4 vehicles to track leopards, lions, and wild dogs. In the afternoon, swap the engine for a paddle as we glide through the lily-covered channels in a traditional Mokoro (dugout canoe). It’s the ultimate way to see the delta from a hippo’s eye view.

Day 3

OKAVANGO DELTA

We’re deep in the bush now. Spend the day exploring the Khwai Conservancy, a lush bridge between the Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe. Whether it’s spotting rare birds or watching elephants cross the river at sunset, today is about slowing down to the rhythm of the wild. We’ll wrap up the day with a signature sundowner in the middle of the bush.

Day 4

CHOBE

After a final morning game drive and a hearty bush breakfast, we take to the skies again. Our light aircraft transfer to Kasane offers a “flight-seeing” perspective of the winding waterways below. Upon arrival, we head to Elephant Valley Lodge. Tucked away from the Chobe crowds, this lodge sits on a massive wildlife corridor—don’t be surprised if an elephant wanders past while you’re at the pool!

Day 5

CHOBE

Wake up to the sounds of the Lesoma Valley. Today we explore Chobe National Park, home to the highest concentration of elephants on the planet. We’ll head out on 4×4 drives to find the big cats and massive buffalo herds that roam these plains. In the evening, the animals come to us at the lodge’s private waterhole.

Day 6

CHOBE

Today we trade the dusty trails for a Chobe River Boat Cruise. This is widely considered one of the best wildlife experiences in Africa. You’ll get incredibly close to swimming elephants, sunbathing crocodiles, and pods of hippos—all while the African sun sets over the water. It’s a total “pinch-me” moment.

Day 7

ZIMBABWE

After breakfast, we leave Botswana behind and cross the border into Zimbabwe. Our destination: the legendary Victoria Falls. We’ll check into the boutique Insika Lodge and head out for a Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River. Sip on a cocktail and watch the spray of the falls rise in the distance as the stars come out.

Day 8

This is the big one. We’ll take a guided tour of Victoria Falls, walking through the rainforest to witness the sheer power of the world’s largest falling curtain of water. For lunch, we’ll head to the Lookout Cafe, perched precariously over the Batoka Gorge. Tonight, we celebrate our final evening with the Boma Dinner & Drum Show—expect a feast, fire, and a lot of rhythm.
