Join Legit Trips for an unforgettable 8-day journey along the final 115 kilometers of the legendary Camino Francés — the most iconic section of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. Together, we’ll walk through medieval villages, eucalyptus forests, rolling Galician countryside, and centuries of history before arriving at the magnificent cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
This trip is designed for travelers who want the magic of the Camino without sacrificing comfort. We’ll stay in charming inns and boutique hotels, transfer your luggage between stops, and support you every step of the way with an experienced bilingual Camino guide.

You do not need prior backpacking or pilgrimage experience to complete this route.
This trip starts in Sarria, Spain and ends in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Guests can fly RT in/out of Madrid (MAD) and take the train to/from the start/end locations. Or, guests can fly in/out of Santiago de Compostela (SCQ) airport and take a bus to the start in Sarria.
We are happy to help with your arrival and departure logistics, but are starting in Sarria and ending the official trip in Santiago so that guests have the most flexibility to arrive early or extend afterwards.
Accommodations are currently TBD. Expect charming stone guesthouses, boutique inns, and pilgrim-friendly hotels that reflect the warmth and authenticity of Northern Spain. This page will be updated once properties are confirmed.

All trips are priced as double occupancy. If you are traveling solo, it doesn’t mean you need to pay for a solo supplement, we’re happy to pair you with a roommate whenever possible.
After paying your deposit, the balance due will be $3500. You can pay this over 12 months at $292/ mo. Or in however many installments as you like. We offer flexible payment plans to suit your individual needs.
This trip requires all guests to be registered by 12 months out from the start date. We will request a mid-way payment of 50% ($1750) at this time, and it will be non-refundable.

Deposits are non-refundable (but are transferable to another person not currently signed up for this trip or another Legit Trip) until 12 months out from the trip start date. Deposits may only be transferred one time and incur a $100 rebooking fee.
At 12 months out, our guest list must be finalized, so guests will be required to make a mid-way payment that will be non-refundable.

FIRST TIME FRIENDLY
The final 115km route from Sarria to Santiago is the minimum distance required to earn the official Compostela certificate — making it one of the most rewarding and approachable Camino experiences for first-time pilgrims.
COMFY LODGING
Stay in carefully selected small hotels and inns along the Camino route, blending local character with comfort after each day’s walk.
SMALL GROUP
This is not a giant bus tour. Expect meaningful connections, shared meals, slow travel, and the kind of conversations that only happen after a long day on the trail. The trip is capped at 13 guests max, plus our Legit Trips trip leader, Kristen (14 people total).

Your luggage is transferred daily between accommodations, so you can enjoy the Camino with just a daypack.
Day 1
WELCOME TO SARRIA
Meet your fellow travelers in the lively pilgrimage town of Sarria, where many Camino journeys begin. After a welcome orientation with our guide, we’ll collect our first passport stamps, toast the adventure ahead with wine, and settle into the rhythm of Camino life.

Day 2
Our pilgrimage officially begins. Walk through peaceful forests, rural villages, ancient chestnut groves, and rolling countryside as we pass the symbolic 100km marker on the way to the riverside town of Portomarín.

Day 3
Follow winding country roads through classic Galician villages dotted with stone crosses, hórreos, and eucalyptus forests. This is the Camino at its most timeless and atmospheric. Ending in Palas de Rei.

Day 4
Today’s route rolls through quiet farmland and forest before arriving in Melide — famous throughout Galicia for its incredible pulpo (octopus) and local food culture.

Day 5
Walk past Romanesque churches and shaded eucalyptus groves as the excitement of nearing Santiago slowly builds. End in Arzúa.

By now, the Camino rhythm feels natural. Greet fellow pilgrims with “Buen Camino,” stop for café con leche in tiny villages, and savor your final full day on the trail.

After nearly a week of walking, the towers of Santiago finally appear. Arrive at the legendary cathedral, collect your Compostela certificate, and celebrate your accomplishment with a special farewell dinner.

Day 8
DEPARTURES
After breakfast, our local historian gives us a closer look at the amazing Cathedral that has seen so many transformations since the original chapel built in the 9th-century. After the tour, we sadly say our last Buen Camino! as we leave you at the Cathedral in time for the pilgrims mass at noon. Guests continue on or return home on their own.
