This trip starts and ends in Cortina, Italy.
The nearest airport is Venice Marco Polo (VCE). There are options to take a bus from VCE to Cortina whenever you arrive (there are 30 daily busses from 7:20am- 8:20pm). We are planning to arrange a private transfer around noon on June 14 for the group. Transfers are not included as we wanted to give the group freedom to extend, explore more of Europe, etc. The bus is easy and cheap, the private transfers are quite expensive. Feel free to contact us for more information. Either way the trip is 2-2.5 hrs from VCE to Cortina.
We are offering a 2-ni Venice add-on before the trip for guests who want to spend time in Venice.
Transfers & Flight Details
Flight details must be submitted at least 30 days before trip departure to receive included airport transfers. After that point, guests will need to arrange their own airport transportation.

Classic circular tour of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo– 6 miles- 400 m elevation gain (w/ optional add-on route +2 mi/ 400 m of gain) - 1 easy, guided via ferrata including rental equipment- AVERAU Via Ferrata loop with famous summit cross
- Classic 5 Torri chairlift tickets to access via ferrata
- Local transfers for activities (to and from all locations)
- Ticket 3 Cime di Lavaredo Street
- Half-day free to visit the world-famous Lago di Braies including transportation and private access for VIP photo area. Driver will drop us off at 8:30am and pick us up around 12:30pm. You have the morning to rent a row boat and/or hike around the lake, or simply relax and enjoy the view. There are small cafes and a souvenir shop.

Deposits are non-refundable (but are transferable to another person not currently signed up for this trip or another Legit Trip). Activity Level: Moderate
This trip is a great fit for active travelers who enjoy being on their feet and spending time in the mountains. You should feel comfortable hiking 6–9 miles in a day on varied terrain.
While some trails are steep and uneven, the altitude is moderate by alpine standards, and we’ll be supported by experienced local guides throughout
The included via ferrata is rated easy (Grade B)—a fun, approachable introduction that adds a bit of adventure without requiring prior experience.

Winter Olympics
The 2026 Winter Olympics were held in Cortina d'Ampezzo, known as the "Queen of the Dolomites." The town hosted women's alpine skiing, bobsled, luge, skeleton, and curling. This marks the second time Cortina has hosted the Winter Olympics, the first being in 1956.
Lago Sorapis
Famous for its luminous turquoise water and dramatic mountain setting, Lago Sorapis is a breathtaking highlight. The rewarding hike to reach it only adds to the experience, making this a memorable day for anyone who loves beautiful trails, big alpine scenery, and that wow-factor payoff.
Day 1
ARRIVALS
Arrive in Cortina d’Ampezzo on your own or with the scheduled group pickup (additional cost), then check in to Villa Alpina after 2pm.
This evening, meet the group and our hosts at a welcome dinner as we kick off our Dolomites adventure.
Day 2
Turquoise Waters of Lago Sorapis
After breakfast, private transfer to Valbona.
Hike to Lago Sorapis
Approx. 9 miles / 866 m elevation gain
Follow a beautiful, less-traveled route to one of the Dolomites’ most striking alpine lakes, with a stop at Refugio Vandelli along the way.

Day 3
Averau Via Ferrata + Rifugio Views
Ride the cable car to Rifugio Scoiattoli, then hike toward Rifugio Averau, where the via ferrata begins.
This approachable route loops around Averau and reaches the iconic summit cross, with incredible mountain views along the way.

Day 4
Wooden Boat Lago di Braies +
Free Afternoon in Cortina
Private transfer this morning to the world-famous Lago di Braies, where we’ll enjoy an included ride on its iconic wooden boats.
Walk around the lake, enjoy the cafés, or go for another summit before returning to Cortina for a free afternoon.

Day 5
Iconic Tre Cime di Lavaredo
Private transfer to Rifugio Auronzo. Depending on the group’s vibe, we’ll choose either a 6- or 8-mile hike to Tre Cime, with the option to add Cadini di Misurina (some via ferrata required).
Either way, we’ll enjoy magnificent views of the iconic Tre Cime di Lavaredo.

Day 6
DEPARTURES
Breakfast at the hotel this morning.
Then depart by bus or private transfer to Venice, or continue on to wherever your travels take you next. Say goodbye to your new travel friends and start sharing photos and memories.
