From ancient fairy forts and medieval castles to haunted historic pubs and the legendary Macnas Halloween Parade, this 7-day journey takes you deep into the heart of Irish myth, mystery, and tradition. We aren’t just visiting Ireland—we’re stepping directly into the ancient roots of Samhain, the original Celtic festival that gave birth to Halloween.
Your adventure begins in Dublin with an afternoon dipping into Dublin’s most iconic, story-filled pubs. From there, we journey west across the emerald countryside to Galway, the cultural beating heart of Ireland, where the city comes alive with spellbinding street theater, lantern light, and festival energy.
Throughout the week, you’ll uncover Ireland’s deepest legends: walking an ancient Fairy Fort alongside Eddie Lenihan—Ireland’s most legendary storyteller and seanchaí—exploring mystical Celtic gardens, and standing atop the towering Cliffs of Moher high above the crashing Atlantic. We wrap up our journey in grand style with an unforgettable stay in a real Irish castle hotel overlooking Dublin Bay.

This trip starts and ends in Dublin. You’ll fly RT from Dublin (DUB airport) You’ll also have a scenic transfer across Ireland’s Wild Atlantic region as part of the journey. Option to add extra nights on either end.

Tonight is the main event: Galway’s world-famous Macnas Halloween Parade, where giant puppets, fire performers, and drumlines transform the city into a living spectacle of Celtic myth!

GALWAY
Free day to explore the city. Stroll the vibrant Latin Quarter, listen to live traditional music at Tigh Neachtain or Taaffes Bar, walk the inconic Long Walk by the Spanish Arch or seek out some fresh local seafood.
Day 4
GALWAY
Today we journey to County Clare for an exclusive walk to an ancient Fairy Fort with Eddie Lenihan, Ireland’s premier master storyteller and folklore expert.
Afterward, we’ll explore the mystical, Celtic-themed trails and seasonal heritage workshops at Brigit’s Garden before returning to Galway.

CLIFFS OF MOHER
We’ll start the day exploring the 15th-century Bunratty Castle and its historic Folk Park, stepping back in time through reconstructed 19th-century Irish farmhouses and thatched cottages.
Then, it’s on to the iconic Cliffs of Moher to soak in panoramic Atlantic views and walk along towering 700-foot sea cliffs before heading back to Galway.

KILLINEY
Today we head to the historic 18th-century Fitzpatrick Castle, with time to relax or explore the nearby village of Dalkey.
In the evening, we’ll gather inside the castle for a memorable farewell dinner to raise a glass to an extraordinary week of Irish folklore, friendships, and Halloween magic!

Day 7
DEPARTURE
Enjoy one final Irish breakfast in the castle dining room before your private transfer takes you back to Dublin Airport (DUB) for your flight home. Trade photos, exchange contacts, and say slán abhaile (safe travels home) to your new travel family until the next Legit Trips adventure!
