Join Meredith for a private group adventure of the Salkantay trail and Machu Picchu! The best way to cross Machu Picchu off your bucketlist. This is a fully supported 40 mile trek along the Salkantay Trail as we travel to Machu Picchu. Two days in Cusco before the hike to acclimate to the altitude are included as well as a hotel night in the end to relax before we depart! Option for a 3 day add on that includes Rainbow mountain.
Trip begins and ends in Cusco (CUZ). But there are often more flight options if you book to Lima from your home city, and then book a domestic jumper from Lima to Cusco.

As soon as you put a deposit down for this trip, we begin submitting permits for Machu Picchu specifically with your name and passport information on them. Spots with our trekking operator and permits for Machu Picchu are non-refundable. Thus, we are not able to honor any refunds or transfers on this particular trip. Thanks for understanding.

Machu Picchu is made up of more than 150 buildings ranging from baths and houses to temples and sanctuaries.
Elevation
Located at 7,000 feet above sea level , Machu Picchu is the most visited tourist destination in Peru and was built in 1450 AD.
Discovery
Machu Picchu was only known locally until a Yale Professor re-discovered the site in 1911. His book, The Lost City of the Incas, was based on his findings.
Well Preserved
Machu Picchu is one of the most well-preserved Inca cities and an archeological gem, as it wasn't destroyed during the Spanish Conquest like other ancient cities.
