Morocco is a Muslim country and specific cultural customs will need to be observed such as modest dress and not drinking alcohol in public.
This trip has one night of “glamping” without access to running water, wifi, or refrigeration.
This trip includes quite a few long drives on windy roads to get to the desert. Not the most fun but totally worth it.
Morocco is absolutely beautiful but is a developing nation and will push most people out of their comfort zone. We think this is a good thing but you should be mentally prepared for a very different experience than going to Europe.
Fun Facts About Morocco
UNESCO
Fes and Marrakech are just two of ten Moroccon cities recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.
Fes Medina
The Fes medina is a labyrinth of about 10,000 alleys that are too narrow for cars, with small artisanal shops selling all kinds of hand-made product. It is a completely car-free urban zone.
Mosques
Like in all the villages, towns and cities in Morocco, Fes has more than 400 mosques. Each neighborhood has it's own!
Sahara Desert
It is the largest hot desert in the world, & the third largest desert overall after Antarctica and the Arctic. Its area of 9,200,000 square kilometres is comparable to the area of China or the US.
