Your Ride: New model mercedes sprinter style van with professional camping build out.
Westland Tai Poutini National Park
This park extends from the highest peaks of the Southern Alps out to the coastline, and encompasses both Franz Josef and Fox Glacier. We’ll visit both! Choose your own adventure: by helicopter, glacier hike, or valley walk, you’ll get to take in the stunning natural beauty of this area.
Aoraki Mount Cook National Park
Mount Cook is New Zealand’s highest peak at 12,218 feet tall. We’ll stay in Lake Tekapo where you can see the impressive peak, even from your cozy bed inside the van! Optional trips into the park are available for those seeking to stretch their legs for a good hike. There are helicopter rides available inside this park as well. The park is also the only Dark Sky Reserve in the Southern Hemisphere, so we highly recommend staying til dark for some star gazing if you do make the trip!
Mount Aspiring National Park
From our home base in Wanaka, you’ll have access to this wilderness park with mountains and rivers. Mount Aspiring is a hikers paradise. There are also options for packrafting, rock climbing, fishing, and skydiving!
Fiordland National Park
We’ll spend 4 days with our base camp in Queenstown, and many guests will choose to make a day trip or one night overnight to Fiordland National Park. Milford Sound, one of the most famous fiords carved by glaciers, was dubbed one of the “Eighth Wonder of the World” by Rudyard Kipling.
Maui, Hawaiian Island Campervan Road Trip

Your Ride: Hymer Activ professional van build-out OR classic VW Westfalia, your choice!

The summit and crater of the volcano are easily accessed from the visitor center side entrance off Highway 378. We’ll also venture south to the coastal Kipahulu area via the Road to Hana. There is hiking, waterfalls, and sacred pools to be visited on this side of the park.
And while we know this article is about national parks, we’ll also be visiting some rad state parks on the Maui itinerary, and we’ll get to stay at WAI’ANAPANAPA STATE PARK, with black lava sands and tidal caves! (NBD.)
Whether with us, on one of these incredible itineraries, or on your own, we hope you make the time to Get Outside and Explore the natural beauty our National Parks worldwide have to offer!
