We begin in Lima, South America’s culinary capital, where food is more than a meal—it’s a point of pride. You’ll dive straight into Peruvian culture with a market visit and hands-on cooking class led by a professional chef, learning the stories, ingredients, and techniques behind iconic dishes like causa and lomo saltado (plus a well-earned pisco sour). Evenings are just as memorable, including a welcome dinner show that pairs elevated Peruvian cuisine with traditional music and dance for a true sensory introduction to the country.
From the coast, we head deep into the Amazon basin to Iquitos, gateway to one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. Here, the pace shifts as we embark on a 4-day luxury Amazon river cruise, where your floating boutique hotel takes you straight into the rainforest. With all meals included, expert naturalist guides, and daily excursions by skiff and on foot, you’ll explore remote waterways, spot wildlife, and gain insight into life along the Amazon—without sacrificing comfort.
After the cruise, we wrap up with a meaningful visit to the Pilpintuhuasi Butterfly Farm, home to dozens of butterfly species and rescued Amazonian wildlife. You’ll learn about conservation efforts, observe monkeys, sloths, and even jaguars, and witness the full butterfly metamorphosis process—an inspiring finale before returning to Lima.

This trip starts in Lima (LIM) and ends in Iquitos. You’ll fly back to Lima for your international flight home.
Your adventure includes 4 days on a small Amazon cruise boat in Peru plus 2 nights in Lima and 1 night in Iquitos. Option to add nights on either end based on availability.

After breakfast, we’ll fly all together to Iquitos (flight not included.) Brief city tour before boarding the cruise. Meet your expert naturalist guides and enjoy a regional welcome lunch as you sail the Marañón River. Night boat excursion to spot nocturnal wildlife like caimans, frogs, and bats before dinner on board.

Day 4
Start with a picnic breakfast along the Yanayacu River in the Pacaya Samiria Reserve, where pink dolphins are often spotted, followed by a peaceful canoe ride and optional swim. After lunch onboard, learn about Amazonian philosophy, then visit the San Regis community for a cultural exchange with a local shaman, including a symbolic tree-planting ceremony. Dinner and live music.

Begin with an early-morning wildlife excursion to Iquitos Brook, followed by breakfast and a guided jungle walk across hanging canopy bridges. Early-morning boat excursion to Gasparito Brook for birdlife and primate sightings, followed by breakfast and a Pisco Sour demonstration onboard. In Iquitos experience a scenic river journey to the community of Padre Cocha to visit the Pilpintuhuasi Butterfly Farm, where you’ll learn about Amazonian biodiversity, conservation efforts, and observe dozens of butterfly species alongside rescued wildlife.
