Join us for a private group Trek along the Salkantay Trail to Machu Picchu! We believe this fully supported 50-mile adventure is the best way to cross Machu Picchu off your bucket list. We spend two days in the walkable town of Cusco before the hike, to acclimate to the altitude and soak in the culture and history of this high-altitude Andean capital. We’ll return to the same Cusco hotel after the trek to celebrate before we depart!

This custom, private tour creates a full trip around visiting Machu Picchu.  We’ve taken care of every detail and will support you every step of the way- from packing to training to airport transfers and Cusco recommendations.

This trip begins and ends in Cusco (CUZ).  There are often more flight options if you book to Lima (LIM) from your home US city, and then book a domestic jumper from Lima to Cusco separately.

TOTAL $2,465 per person

All trips are priced as double occupancy.  If you are traveling solo, it doesn’t mean you need to pay a solo supplement, we’re happy to pair you with a roommate whenever possible. A solo lodging option is available for the hotel nights in Cusco (3) for this trip.

After you pay your deposit, you may pay the balance of $1715 anytime up to 90 days prior to trip departure, or we can set up equal monthly installments.  IE: $190/mo x 9 months. Email us for payment options.

  • 4 Nights hotel stay- 3 nights at a 4-star boutique hotel in Cusco walkable to Plaza De Armas, and 1 in Aguas Calientes (for a hot shower before visiting Machu Picchu the next morning)
  • 3 Nights on-trek glamping: 1 night in a Sky Dome, 1 night in an Andean Hut, 1 night in a Jungle Dome (cots and pillows provided!)
  • Round-trip airport transfers between Cusco airport and hotel
  • 5-day, 4-night guided Salkantay Trek with local guides, chefs and porters (includes entry to Machu Picchu citadel and add-on tickets for Huchuy Mountain if desired)
  • Half-day, private guided Cusco City Tour:

    Start this half-day tour at Cusco’s main square, which was called Huacaypata (Warriors Square) by the Incas.
    Admire the city’s cathedral that was built between 1560 and 1664 with the red granite stones from the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. The cathedral is without doubt one of the most impressive buildings in Cusco.
    Next, you continue to Koricancha and the Convent of Santo Domingo. Wandering through the streets of what once was the capital of the Inca Empire, you feel like you are traveling through time.
    Then, head to the nearby ruins,  Sacsayhuaman Fortress with its immense temple walls made out of huge stones constructed in a zigzag pattern.

As soon as you put a deposit down for this trip, we begin submitting permits for Machu Picchu specifically with your name and passport information on them. Spots with our trekking operator and permits for Machu Picchu are non-refundable.   Thus, we are not able to honor any refunds or transfers on this particular trip.  Thanks for understanding.

Machu Picchu is made up of more than 150 buildings ranging from baths and houses to temples and sanctuaries.


Located at 7,000 feet above sea level , Machu Picchu is the most visited tourist destination in Peru and was built in 1450 AD.


Machu Picchu was only known locally until a Yale Professor re-discovered the site in 1911. His book, The Lost City of the Incas, was based on his findings.
